The problem

AI is great at reading documents. Uploading them is the problem.

Client books, payroll, personnel files and internal policies are exactly the documents you'd love to ask questions about — and exactly the ones you shouldn't send to someone else's servers. InFiles gives you the answers without the upload.

How it works

Three steps. No setup, no server.

  1. 1

    Add your documents

Pick folders or individual files from anywhere on your Mac — a client folder, an HR shared drive, a policy library.

  2. 2

    InFiles reads them locally

Text, tables and scanned pages are read and indexed on your Mac. Scans and photos go through Apple's on-device text recognition.

  3. 3

    Ask in plain language

Get a straight answer with the files it came from, so you can open the source and check it in one click.

Who it's for

Private AI for accountants, HR and compliance teams

Accountants & bookkeepers

Work through client folders without sending client data anywhere.

  • “Which vendor sent the highest invoice?”
  • “Which invoices are still unpaid or overdue?”
  • “What is the total of all Q3 expenses?”

HR teams

Answer policy and handbook questions while personnel files stay on your machine.

  • “How many days of parental leave does the handbook allow?”
  • “What is the notice period in the standard contract?”
  • “Which policy covers remote-work equipment?”

Compliance & audit

Find the clause, the control or the evidence — with the source document attached.

  • “Where do we describe our data retention period?”
  • “Which vendors are missing a signed agreement?”
  • “Does the AP aging agree with the balance sheet?”

Policy teams

Search a whole policy library in plain language instead of keyword guessing.

  • “What does our travel policy say about business class?”
  • “Which policies were last reviewed before 2025?”
  • “Summarise the changes in the new code of conduct.”

Privacy

Where do your files go?
Nowhere.

InFiles was designed for confidential work from day one. The AI model runs inside the app on your Mac, so there is no server to send documents to.

  • Processed on your Mac. Reading, indexing, OCR and answers all happen locally.
  • No account, no sign-in. Open the app and start asking.
  • One download, then offline. The app connects once to download its AI model. After that, it works with Wi-Fi off.
  • Your files stay untouched. InFiles reads your documents; it never edits, moves or uploads them.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Is InFiles really offline?

Yes. Reading your files, searching them and generating answers all happen on your Mac. Your documents are never uploaded anywhere.

Does it need an internet connection?

Only once, to download the AI model (about 1 to 5 GB depending on the model you choose). After that it works with Wi-Fi turned off.

Is it safe for confidential client or employee data?

It's built for exactly that. Because nothing leaves your Mac, client records, payroll, personnel files and policies stay on your own machine.

How accurate are the answers?

Every answer shows the files it came from so you can check it. Totals, highs, lows and counts over spreadsheets are calculated in code across every row rather than estimated by the AI. As with any AI, check the source for anything important.

Does it read Word documents?

Not yet. For now, save Word files as PDF and InFiles will read them.

Is there a Windows version?

InFiles is launching on Mac first. A Windows version is planned after the Mac release.

How much does it cost?

Pricing will be announced at launch.
